French Polynesia COVID-19 Travel Update

The Blue Lagoon in Tahiti

In accordance with measures in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 in French Polynesia, international travel is currently suspended (since March 18, 2020) until further notice.

French Polynesia has been spared the devastation that so many other countries face during this time. In total, there have been 60 confirmed positive cases of COVID, all of which have been isolated on the island of Tahiti. To date, 58 of the 60 cases have not shown any signs of disease for over 14 days, 2 people are under surveillance, and 1 person remains hospitalized.

The return to normal operation for international travel and tourism is subject to government directives.  We will be communicating new updates to you as soon as possible.

After an 8 week quarantine period throughout the islands, de-confinement measures have been lifted effective May 13. Establishments such as restaurants and shops are open again to the general public. As we have shared before, we could not be more grateful to have experienced being “confined” in paradise. Life did not change that drastically, and the down time offered even more time to dream about new ways to share these islands with our future guests.

When the time is right for travel again, we hope you choose Te Mana Travels. Now, more than ever we know people are craving going off the beaten path with loved ones, being immersed in nature, and experiencing the life changing beauty that the islands of Tahiti and her culture has to offer. We will be ready for you one day soon!
